LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Del Taco, the nation’s second-largest Mexican quick-service restaurant, has announced a new five-store development agreement to enter the Louisville market. The agreement brings Del Taco to Louisville through a partnership with experienced franchisee Karan Pandher.

Pandher, a seasoned restaurant operator familiar with the local market, will oversee the development and management of all five Del Taco locations throughout the Louisville metropolitan area.

The upcoming restaurants will feature Del Taco’s new Fresh Flex design. This modern layout includes bright, contemporary interiors and innovative features aimed at improving the customer experience. The stores will offer dual drive-thru lanes and pick-up lockers for orders placed via the Del Taco app or third-party delivery services. This allows customers to order ahead and enables delivery drivers to collect orders quickly.

Dustin Thompson, Del Taco’s director of franchise development, expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership. “Karan brings the entrepreneurial spirit, operational know-how, and passion for our brand that we seek in franchisees. This deal is a key part of our strategic growth in the Midwest, building on our recent ten-store agreement in nearby Indianapolis.”

Del Taco recently earned the #1 spot for Best Fast-Food Restaurant in the USA Today 10Best Reader’s Choice Awards. The brand is known for fresh-made dishes like Crinkle-Cut fries and Epic Burritos®, prepared daily using high-quality ingredients. These include freshly grilled chicken and carne asada steak, house-grated cheddar, slow-cooked beans, creamy Queso Blanco, hand-chopped pico de gallo, and fresh guacamole.

While specific locations for the new Louisville restaurants have not been announced, Del Taco expects to open its first store within the next 18 to 24 months.
