Taco Bell is stepping up its game in the growing fast-food chicken trend with new menu items designed to compete with major players like McDonald’s, Chick-fil-A, and Burger King.
Crispy chicken remains a favorite among all ages, and Taco Bell is determined to offer a unique take on this classic. The fast-food giant first introduced its Crispy Chicken Nuggets in December last year, and the item quickly became a hit. Nearly five million customers tried the nuggets, which sold out nationwide in less than a week.
Taco Bell’s success comes from a distinctive recipe. The nuggets are made with all-white meat chicken, marinated in jalapeño buttermilk, and coated in a crunchy blend of tortilla chips and breadcrumbs. The brand tested over 50 recipes to create a flavor that stands out from the competition.
Due to high demand, Taco Bell brought back the Crispy Chicken Nuggets for a limited time in April. The overwhelming response encouraged the company to expand its crispy chicken offerings further.
Now, Taco Bell is launching Crispy Chicken Tacos and Burritos. These new menu items feature Crispy Chicken Strips paired with purple cabbage, crisp lettuce, pico de gallo, and shredded cheddar cheese, all wrapped in a warm tortilla.
To complement the new items, Taco Bell is also introducing two dipping sauces: Spicy Ranchero and Avocado Ranch.
“Taco Bell fans made crispy chicken a movement,” said Taylor Montgomery, Taco Bell’s Chief Marketing Officer. “We’re not just following a trend—we’re bringing our unique flavor to the crispy chicken category. We’re elevating our iconic menu with bold flavor that’s unmistakably Taco Bell.”
The new Crispy Chicken menu items aim to capture chicken lovers looking for bold, flavorful options beyond the usual fast-food choices.
