Chick-fil-A, known for its deliberate approach to menu innovation, has quietly introduced two new chicken sandwiches as part of a limited market test. While the national summer menu, released on June 9, features the returning Peach Milkshake and a new Peach Frosted Lemonade, the spotlight is now shifting to two potential additions.
Two New Sandwiches Enter Test Phase
The fast food chain is currently testing the Jalapeño Ranch Club Chicken Sandwich and the Creamy BBQ Chicken Sandwich in two distinct U.S. locations.
The Jalapeño Ranch Club is available exclusively in Salt Lake City, Utah. This sandwich includes a chicken filet (Original, Spicy, or Grilled), paired with pepper Jack cheese, caramelized onion-flavored bacon, lettuce, tomato, and pickled jalapeños. It comes on a toasted buttermilk ranch bun and is served with a side of Jalapeño Ranch Sauce.
Meanwhile, the Creamy BBQ Chicken Sandwich is being tested in Jacksonville, Florida. It features a chicken filet (Original, Spicy, or Grilled) topped with Creamy BBQ Slaw and sweet heat pickle chips. This option is served on a buttery toasted bun and includes a side of Creamy BBQ Sauce.
Limited Availability and Potential for Expansion
The test run for both sandwiches is scheduled to continue through July 19, or while supplies last. Guests can check the Chick-fil-A app or contact local locations in Salt Lake City and Jacksonville to confirm availability.
Although the chain has not confirmed whether these sandwiches will roll out nationwide, positive feedback could influence future decisions. However, history shows that Chick-fil-A tends to take a cautious approach. Even popular test items can take over a year—or more—to reach the national menu. For example, the Pretzel Cheddar Club Sandwich, tested in Raleigh, North Carolina in spring 2023, has yet to be released nationwide.
Annual Summer Tradition
Chick-fil-A has made a habit of introducing new sandwich creations during the summer months. In 2022, it launched the Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich, followed by the Maple Pepper Bacon Sandwich in 2023. While no new chicken sandwich was announced in this year’s summer rollout, the quiet testing of these two new items may signal a future expansion.
For now, fans eager to sample the new flavors may consider making a trip to the test markets. If history is any indication, national availability could still be a long wait.
