Taco Bell, known for its crunchy tacos since the 1960s, is adding a new twist to its menu. The fast-food chain has announced a collaboration with Mike’s Hot Honey to launch a new sauce called Mike’s Hot Honey Diablo Sauce.
Taco Bell’s story began when Glen Bell, a former Marine, opened the first Taco Bell restaurant in 1962. Over the decades, the chain has kept its core favorites like tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and nachos while regularly introducing new menu items to keep things exciting.
Most recently, Taco Bell brought back its popular Crispy Chicken Nuggets in April. Now, the new Mike’s Hot Honey Diablo Sauce is designed to pair perfectly with those nuggets. The sauce marks the next step in Taco Bell’s effort to innovate its crispy chicken offerings. The chain plans to officially add permanent crispy chicken items to its menu in 2026.
Starting May 22, customers nationwide can order the new sauce with any five- or ten-piece nugget order. The sauce will also be available separately for 25 cents per cup. However, Taco Bell notes this new sauce will be available only for a limited time.
Liz Matthews, Taco Bell’s global chief food innovation officer, said, “We didn’t just drop a new sauce, we unlocked a totally new way to experience nuggets with an entirely new take on hot honey. Our sauces spark obsession. Fans collect them, remix them, and make them part of who they are.”
This latest addition continues Taco Bell’s tradition of spicing up the menu while keeping loyal fans coming back for more.
