Burger King announced on the 12th that it is launching two new burgers under its premium “Originals” line, each made with 150g thick beef patties. The new items, dubbed the “Original 150g” series, aim to deliver a more satisfying and flavorful burger experience.
The upgraded patties are 33% larger than the brand’s previous offerings, while still preserving the signature flame-grilled taste that defines the Whopper. The thicker patties are designed to offer a richer texture and a more filling meal.
The Original 150g lineup includes two unique flavor profiles:
Original Maple Garlic: This burger blends sweet and savory elements. It features smoky oak-grilled whole garlic, crispy bacon, and sweet maple syrup to create a balanced, bold taste.
Original New York Steak: Inspired by classic American steakhouse flavors, this version includes creamy Monterey Jack cheese and a savory steak sauce to evoke the essence of a New York-style steak.
Both new burgers are served on buttery brioche buns, chosen to complement the rich meat and enhance the overall flavor. The buns offer a soft and moist texture, adding to the premium feel of the meal.
A Burger King spokesperson said, “The thick 150g patty brings out the deep, beefy flavor that defines Burger King’s quality. By incorporating globally inspired ingredients, we aim to offer customers a unique and elevated dining experience in their everyday lives.”
The Original 150g burgers will be available at participating Burger King locations starting this week.
