Jamaica’s Juici Patties Plans Major U.S. Expansion With Goal of 3,000 Stores

by Nick

Jamaica’s largest fast-food chain, Juici Patties, is set to expand aggressively into the U.S. market. The company has already signed 57 franchise agreements and aims to open new locations by 2027, according to Black Enterprise.

Juici Patties was founded in 1980 by Jukie Chin in May Pen, Clarendon, Jamaica. The brand started with a single signature item — the Jamaican beef patty, a flaky pastry filled with spicy beef. What began as a small kitchen operation by a teenager has grown into a household name with over 60 outlets across Jamaica and a presence throughout the Caribbean.

The chain started entering the U.S. market in 2024 with openings in South Florida, followed by new locations in Brooklyn and the Bronx, according to Eater. The warm reception at these sites shows that Jamaican cuisine appeals not only to Caribbean diaspora communities but to a broader audience as well.

“This is more than just a business. It is a chance for a Jamaican brand to grow globally and show the world Jamaica’s potential,” said Daniel Chin, CEO of Juici Patties USA and son of the founder, in an interview with Black Enterprise. “Being from Jamaica and the Caribbean motivates me to achieve something unprecedented.”

He helped lead a major overhaul of the company’s operations by improving hiring, training, and employee pay.

Within two years, Juici Patties was ranked No. 1 in Jamaica for customer service. Employee satisfaction rose sharply, with 96% of staff recommending the company as a workplace, according to Black Enterprise.

This strong operational foundation supports Juici Patties’ U.S. expansion. The company follows a franchise model, avoiding outside investment to maintain control and ensure quality. Most franchisees are Jamaican Americans who share the brand’s cultural values and understand the food.

“Franchising helps spread wealth,” Chin said. “Franchisees build the stores, buy equipment, and manage construction. I like this model because it creates opportunities for others.”

With plans to open 3,000 locations across the United States, Juici Patties is proving that Caribbean brands can grow globally without losing their authenticity.
