In-N-Out Burger is rapidly expanding its presence across the U.S., with plans to open nine new locations in California, Arizona, Colorado, and Washington.
As reported by Fox LA on May 8, 2025, customers in these states will soon be able to enjoy the chain’s famous burgers at several new spots. California will see new In-N-Out locations in Indio, Monrovia, Modesto, and Sylmar. In Colorado, the latest addition opened in Brighton on May 9, 2025, marking the 13th In-N-Out restaurant in the state. Two more locations are already in development.
In-N-Out has been growing quickly in Colorado, having only expanded to the state in 2020, according to 9News. The company is also making moves in Washington and Arizona, with new restaurants planned for Ridgefield, Washington, and Surprise, Arizona, KTLA reported.
The burger chain has not ventured further east than Texas, but in 2023, In-N-Out announced it would eventually reach New Mexico, with plans to open a location in Albuquerque by 2027. The Albuquerque Journal reported in April 2025 that the restaurant won’t open until that year.
Founded in 1948, In-N-Out Burger started as California’s first drive-thru hamburger stand in Baldwin Park. The company’s website states that Harry Snyder, the founder, personally selected fresh ingredients every day before dawn while his wife, Esther, managed the accounting from their nearby home.
