MATTESON, Ill. (May 8, 2025) – Chick-fil-A® will open its first restaurant in Matteson on Thursday, May 15, 2025, creating about 100 full- and part-time jobs. The new location will be led by local Owner-Operator Daniel Watson.
Located at 5000 211th Street, Chick-fil-A Matteson will offer dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, third-party delivery, and catering pick-up services. Operating hours will be Monday through Saturday, from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. As with all Chick-fil-A restaurants, it will remain closed on Sundays. To better serve families, the location will include a playground for children.
Local Leadership with a Community Focus
Watson, originally from the Chicagoland area, described the opening as a meaningful moment for both his family and the community.
“Bringing the first Chick-fil-A to Matteson is an incredibly rewarding moment for my family and me,” he said. “I started as a Team Member, and now, as an Owner-Operator, I want to create opportunities for others and serve Matteson with care both inside and outside the restaurant.”
Inspired by his brother-in-law, who operates a Chick-fil-A in Tennessee, Watson began his career with the company at an entry-level role. He went on to earn a Chick-fil-A Remarkable Futures™ Scholarship and later joined the Chick-fil-A® Leadership Development Program. Now, he returns to his hometown to lead his own restaurant.
Supporting the Matteson Community
In addition to job creation, Chick-fil-A Matteson is launching with a strong focus on community support:
Food Insecurity Support: Chick-fil-A, Inc. is donating $25,000 to Feeding America to benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository. This contribution is made in honor of the new restaurant and will support hunger relief efforts in the region.
Shared Table Program: The restaurant will join the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® initiative, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofit organizations. The program has helped create over 35 million meals nationwide.
Honoring Local Heroes: Chick-fil-A Matteson will recognize 100 community members making a difference by gifting them free entrées for a year.
