In-N-Out Sets Sights on First Washington Location with Grand Opening Approaching

by Nick

RIDGEFIELD, WA – June 2025 — In-N-Out Burger is preparing to open its first-ever location in Washington state, with construction nearing completion at the Ridgefield site and a grand opening expected as soon as mid-July.

The new restaurant is located at 5801 Pioneer Canyon Drive in Ridgefield, according to Steve Mathis, a community forum administrator who regularly updates a Facebook group of more than 10,000 In-N-Out fans. While the popular California-based chain is known for keeping opening dates under wraps until just days before launch, signs indicate the Ridgefield debut is rapidly approaching.

Mathis recently posted that the opening could take place between mid-June and mid-July, as construction crews make swift progress and branded signage has already been installed on the building.

Custom Design for Washington Debut

The Ridgefield In-N-Out will include several notable features tailored for the area. According to The Columbian, the restaurant will offer 76 parking spaces, a drive-thru that can accommodate 46 vehicles, and a covered patio for outdoor dining.

City Manager Steve Stuart said the design reflects Ridgefield’s local character and will feature a unique exterior that breaks from the typical In-N-Out look. The building includes darker colors and alternative materials specifically requested by the city to better blend with the community’s aesthetic.

“It’s going to be a really high-quality structure that feels like it belongs here,” Stuart told The Columbian.

A West Coast Icon Expands North

Founded 76 years ago in California, In-N-Out Burger has become a cult favorite among fast-food fans for its fresh burgers, hand-cut fries, and creamy milkshakes. The chain is also famous for its “secret menu,” which includes items like the “Animal Style” burger—featuring mustard-grilled patties, pickles, extra spread, and grilled onions—and fries topped with melted cheese and sauce.

The Ridgefield restaurant will mark a major milestone for In-N-Out’s gradual expansion across the western United States. Washington has long awaited its own location, and Ridgefield residents are eager to welcome the iconic chain.

While the official opening date remains unconfirmed, signs suggest the countdown is on. With construction nearly complete and branding in place, Washington’s first taste of In-N-Out is just weeks away.
