After years of anticipation, Jollibee is finally opening its first restaurant in Oregon. The Filipino fast-food chain will launch its newest location on Friday, May 30, at 1951 N.W. 185th Ave. in Hillsboro’s Tanasbourne Village, a company spokesperson confirmed to the News-Times.
Founded in the Philippines in 1978, Jollibee has gained a dedicated following thanks to its unique and flavorful menu. Its signature item, the golden-fried Chickenjoy, is often served with rice and dipped in smooth gravy. USA Today recently named it the best fast-food fried chicken in the United States.
Beyond the famous chicken, the new restaurant will feature crispy chicken sandwiches and saucy burgers. But Jollibee offers much more than typical fast-food fare. Filipino favorites such as sweet-style spaghetti — which includes sliced hot dogs — and palabok, a garlicky noodle dish topped with hard-boiled egg and ground pork, provide a taste experience not usually found at other fast-food spots.
Oregonians have eagerly awaited this moment. Jollibee operates over 100 locations across North America and more than 1,500 worldwide. News of the Hillsboro location first surfaced in 2022 when the company announced plans to occupy the former Chevys Fresh Mex space.
The new restaurant will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. It will offer dine-in, takeout, and drive-thru services. Online ordering will become available in the coming weeks.
