Wendy’s fans now have a new way to enjoy the chain’s famous fresh beef patties—at home. For the first time, Wendy’s quarter-pound beef patties are being sold in grocery stores, but you won’t find this item on restaurant menus.
Known for its fresh, never frozen beef, Wendy’s has long stood out in the fast-food world. While the brand’s canned chili has appeared in stores before, this new grocery offering is a first for their iconic fresh patties.
According to an Instagram post from @snackbetch, the fresh beef patties are currently available at select Kroger and King Soopers locations in Columbus, Ohio, and Denver, Colorado. Wendy’s confirmed that the launch is part of its effort to bring “famous food to customers in new and exciting ways.” Though the company has not confirmed whether these cities are test markets, it’s likely they are gauging customer response before considering a wider release.
Shoppers report that a four-pack of patties costs about $9, or $2.25 per patty. While the price may be higher than grabbing a burger directly from Wendy’s, fans see the value in grilling the patties at home during barbecue season.
“This is a dream come true,” one fan commented online. Another added, “Definitely gotta grill these.”
For those who love Wendy’s burgers and want the convenience of preparing them at home, this new grocery item offers a tasty solution. Now, if only Wendy’s would find a way to bottle their famous Frosty, some fans might never visit the drive-thru again.
