Wethersfield, CT — June 19, 2025 — Popular chicken chain Raising Cane’s is expanding its presence in Connecticut with a new restaurant set to open in Wethersfield later this month. The grand opening will feature a range of activities and giveaways designed to engage the local community.
New Location Details
The new Raising Cane’s will open at 1298 Silas Dean Highway, just off Interstate 91, on June 24. The restaurant will begin serving customers at 10 a.m. on opening day.
The Wethersfield location will include a double-lane drive-thru, aimed at delivering the chain’s famous chicken finger meals quickly and efficiently. Guests can also enjoy a spacious outdoor dining patio, perfect for summer dining.
Inside, the restaurant will showcase a lively tribute to the Wethersfield community. Memorabilia from local high schools and colleges, including items honoring Wethersfield High School alum Betsey Johnson and other notable figures, will be displayed throughout the dining area. These touches aim to celebrate local pride and connect with guests.
Grand Opening Festivities
The grand opening will kick off early, starting at 8 a.m., with multiple events and giveaways. One highlight is the “Lucky 20” drawing, where 20 customers aged 13 and older will win free Raising Cane’s meals for an entire year. Entries for the drawing will be accepted between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., with the drawing held shortly after. Winners must be present to claim their prize.
Additionally, the first 100 customers to purchase a combo meal will receive a commemorative hat and a free box combo card, redeemable on a future visit. These items will be available while supplies last, limited to one hat and card per combo purchased.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place around 9 a.m., featuring Wethersfield Mayor Ken Lesser, representatives from the Wethersfield Chamber of Commerce, and the Wethersfield Economic Development Council. DJ Rachel Lynch will provide music for the event.
As part of the celebration, Raising Cane’s will present a check to the Keane Foundation, a local nonprofit honoring the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks.
