A new fast food restaurant focusing on sandwiches and chicken wings is planned for 8950 W. Appleton Ave., located in a strip mall on Milwaukee’s Northwest Side.
Ebony Cannon recently applied for a license to open Jamie Pearls Pizza & Wingz in the 1,700-square-foot storefront. The space has housed several similar eateries in the past, including Buddy’s Pizza, Mr. J’s Fish & Chicken, and Mr. Crab Fish & Chicken.
According to Cannon’s application, she brings six years of experience in the industry and aims to open the restaurant by late May. City records show the restaurant was granted occupancy on May 2, received license approval on May 15, and has passed all required inspections.
The menu will feature a variety of sandwiches and handhelds such as Italian beef, Philly cheesesteak, beef Polish sausage, and hot dogs. Side dishes will include coleslaw, okra, hush puppies, jalapeno poppers, and more.
Despite its name, Jamie Pearls will not serve traditional pizza. The only pizza-related items are two types of “pizza puffs” — beef and gyro — which will be offered as side items.
The restaurant will operate as a counter-service establishment with a small seating area for customers who wish to dine on-site. Takeout will be available, but catering, drive-thru, and delivery services will not be offered, according to the license application.
Jamie Pearls occupies the northwestern portion of a building that also houses West Side Liquor. The property is owned by Ansh West Side Real Estate Holding Inc., with Satpal Singh listed as the registered agent.
Once open, the restaurant’s hours will be Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
