Franklin resident Robert Dominguez was one of the first to celebrate the arrival of Whataburger’s first Williamson County location. A lifelong fan of the Texas-based burger chain, Dominguez arrived early at 7 a.m. on May 12 to be first in line. He eagerly ordered his favorite meal — a double cheeseburger with jalapenos — and was rewarded with free Whataburger meals for a full year.
“I grew up eating Whataburger in Texas and I’m so glad it’s here,” Dominguez said.
Whataburger first announced plans to expand eastward in late 2021, with intentions to open a location in Williamson County. Now, four years later and celebrating its 75th year, the new restaurant marks the chain’s 19th location in Middle Tennessee.
Brentwood Mayor Nelson Andrews expressed enthusiasm for the opening, sharing, “Last week, they came by the office and dropped off a box of burgers for us to try. We’re so glad to have you here and welcome to our neighborhood,” at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Whataburger currently operates roughly 1,000 restaurants across 16 states. The chain has recently expanded into North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Nevada.
The new Brentwood location is at 5004 Maryland Way. Its drive-thru remains open 24 hours a day, serving fans around the clock.
