Wendy’s Introduces Double-Smoked Bacon at Select Kroger Stores

by Nick

Wendy’s, known for its fast-food innovations, is taking a bold step into grocery retail. The popular chain has begun offering its signature double-smoked bacon at select Kroger supermarkets, with the first confirmed location spotted in Kentucky. Although a nationwide release has not been announced, the product is already gaining attention on social media.

Bringing Fast-Food Favorites to the Grocery Aisle

Wendy’s has been expanding beyond its traditional drive-thru model in recent years. This move into grocery stores gives fans a new way to enjoy Wendy’s signature flavors at home. The chain first entered the retail space in 2023 with the launch of its classic chili in supermarkets. Since then, it has partnered with Kellogg’s to release several unique snack items, including Baconator and Chicken Sandwich-flavored Pringles, as well as a limited-edition Frosty Chocolatey Cereal.

The addition of Wendy’s double-smoked bacon to grocery shelves continues this trend. Known for its smoky flavor and crispy texture, the bacon has been a key ingredient in many of Wendy’s top-selling menu items, including the Baconator. Now, consumers can buy this signature product and use it in their own meals.

According to a report by Delish, food influencer Markie Devo shared the news on Instagram, showing photos of the new bacon product at a Kroger in Kentucky. The packaging features Wendy’s iconic red-and-white color scheme and the recognizable logo.

Test Launch Could Signal Wider Distribution

Wendy’s has not officially confirmed whether the bacon will be rolled out nationwide. However, given Kroger’s size and market reach, a successful test could lead to broader availability across the U.S.

In addition to the bacon launch, Wendy’s recently introduced another retail test program. In select markets in Colorado and Ohio, customers can now buy fresh, never frozen, square burger patties from Wendy’s at Kroger and King Soopers locations. The patties are sold in one-pound, four-pack trays and can be found in the refrigerated section.

“Wendy’s is pursuing opportunities to bring our fresh, famous food to customers in new and exciting ways,” a company spokesperson told USA Today.

Retail Expansion Reflects Long-Term Growth Strategy

This move into grocery stores is part of Wendy’s larger plan to expand its brand and reach new customers outside of its restaurants. If these trial runs prove successful, shoppers nationwide may soon be able to pick up Wendy’s favorites while doing their regular grocery shopping.

As interest grows and social media buzz continues, fans are watching closely to see if Wendy’s grocery offerings become a permanent part of their local store shelves.
