Taco Bell is making headlines with a major international expansion, announcing the opening of its first-ever restaurant in Ireland. The U.S.-based fast-food giant is bringing its bold flavors and value-driven menu to a brand-new market, further strengthening its global footprint.
The new Irish location will open this summer through a partnership with Applegreen APGN, one of Ireland’s largest fuel and roadside retailers. The collaboration aims to introduce Taco Bell’s popular offerings — including tacos, burritos, nachos, and quesadillas — to Irish consumers for the first time.
“This partnership underscores our commitment to bringing world-class roadside hospitality to our customers, offering them greater choice and quality while they travel,” said Seamus Stapleton, Managing Director of Applegreen Ireland. “We are constantly investing in our locations, and I’m sure Irish consumers will be very excited at the arrival of Taco Bell.”
With more than 8,700 locations in 32 countries, Taco Bell is no stranger to international success. The chain has become one of the strongest performers under its parent company, Yum! Brands, which also owns KFC and Pizza Hut. Despite challenges like shifting food trends and a volatile global economy, Taco Bell continues to thrive through its commitment to menu innovation, affordability, and strategic expansion.
Applegreen already operates over 430 service stations across the U.K. and U.S., in addition to nearly 200 locations in Ireland. The company’s widespread presence provides a promising platform for Taco Bell’s growth in the region. Each of these Irish service stations presents a potential site for future restaurants, suggesting a longer-term expansion strategy.
Taco Bell’s entry into the Irish market marks a significant milestone for the brand. If the launch proves successful, it could pave the way for further expansion across Europe and beyond, while also boosting international sales and brand recognition.
As Irish customers prepare to experience Taco Bell’s distinctive Tex-Mex offerings, the company’s move signals not only a new chapter in its global journey but also a continued commitment to delivering variety, value, and bold flavors to fast-food lovers around the world.
