Carson City residents won’t have to wait much longer for a Carl’s Jr. restaurant. The new location, located at 1250 S. Carson St., is set to open on Monday, May 12, 2025.
Mike Fogal, managing partner at Apex Construction, confirmed that Carl’s Jr. is currently in the process of training its employees ahead of the opening.
Apex Construction was responsible for the interior and exterior remodeling of the building, which had been vacant since November 2023 when Arnulfo’s, a Mexican restaurant, closed.
The opening of this Carl’s Jr. marks the return of the fast-food chain to Carson City after more than a decade. In 2014, a previous Carl’s Jr. location near the Carson Mall was demolished to make way for additional parking.
Founded in Anaheim, California, Carl’s Jr. opened its first location outside California in Las Vegas in 1979. In 1997, Carl Karcher Enterprises (CKE), the parent company of Carl’s Jr., acquired Hardee’s, expanding the brand by nearly 2,500 locations.
