Zaxbys, the popular fried chicken chain, is preparing to make its mark near Baltimore.
The Georgia-based fast-food brand has partnered with Baltimore’s franchising group, Lattakia Group LLC, to open four new locations across Baltimore and Howard counties, Zaxbys confirmed.
With seven years of local franchising experience, the Lattakia Group expressed enthusiasm about introducing Zaxbys to the area. A company representative said the goal is to bring “people together while contributing to local growth.”
While exact sites have yet to be finalized, the group is exploring potential locations in Nottingham, Rosedale, Glen Burnie, and Ellicott City. Zaxbys already operates in Northern Virginia and has plans for more outlets on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
Mike Mettler, Zaxbys’ chief development officer, described the expansion as “the beginning” of the brand’s presence in Baltimore and its neighboring communities.
Founded in 1990, Zaxbys is known for its chicken fingers, fresh salads, and signature sauces. The chain currently boasts over 970 restaurants in 17 states.
Baltimore’s fast-food chicken scene has been heating up recently, with newcomers such as Raising Cane’s, Dave’s Hot Chicken, and Rooted Rotisserie also setting up shop in the region.
