Burger King is introducing a special menu inspired by the upcoming live-action film How to Train Your Dragon. The fast-food chain, owned by Restaurant Brands International, announced the limited-time offerings on Wednesday as part of a co-promotion with Universal Pictures.
The themed menu features four new items: the Dragon Flame-Grilled Whopper, Fiery Dragon Mozzarella Fries, Viking’s Chocolate Sundae, and Soaring Strawberry Lemonade. True to Burger King’s past movie collaborations, the Whopper bun will have a red and orange marbled design, reflecting the fiery dragon theme.
Joel Yashinsky, a Burger King executive, said in a statement, “Our new collaboration with How to Train Your Dragon is going to be fun for both kids and kids at heart. Our team has created a delicious menu inspired by the beloved characters and themes of this exciting new movie that brings that experience to Burger King restaurants.”
The special menu will be available starting May 27, about two weeks before the film hits theaters on June 13.
As of March, Burger King operates over 19,700 locations worldwide, according to Restaurant Brands International. The chain created the menu to engage fans of both Burger King and How to Train Your Dragon ahead of the film’s release.
How to Train Your Dragon is a live-action reimagining of the original animated movie, which debuted in 2010. The franchise includes two sequels, released in 2014 and 2019. The new film stars Mason Thames, Gerard Butler, and Peter Serafinowicz.
