Walmart shoppers are about to get a new reason to visit their favorite big-box stores. Known for expanding beyond groceries, Walmart continues to add exciting dining options inside its locations. After introducing eateries like Uncle Sharkii poke bar, Mr Gatti’s Pizza, and the Wonder Food Hall, the retailer is now teaming up with Wienerschnitzel, the world’s largest hot dog chain.
Starting in fall 2025, Wienerschnitzel will open quick-service hot dog stands inside select Walmart stores. Initial locations include stores in Puyallup, Washington; Alamogordo, New Mexico; Tempe, Arizona; Reno, Nevada; Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Bakersfield, California.
Customers can expect the full Wienerschnitzel menu, featuring favorites such as the Chili Cheese Dog, Junkyard Dog, Classic Chili Cheese Fries, and Jalapeño Poppers. For dessert, the Tastee Freez soft-serve treats will also be available.
Ted Milburn, Director of Franchise Development for Wienerschnitzel, said the partnership helps modernize their presence and reach new customers. “Growing inside these Walmart locations significantly expands our reach and opens the door for franchisees to tap into high-traffic locations with built-in demand,” Milburn explained.
While the initial rollout is limited to these six states, Wienerschnitzel views the Walmart partnership as a model for future growth. Although no further locations have been announced, fans hope to see more stores added in the coming years.
