As Memorial Day weekend approaches, marking the start of summer, fast-food chains are releasing new frozen drinks to help customers beat the heat. These icy treats offer a refreshing way to cool down and enjoy the warmer months.
Burger King is one of the chains making a splash with its new Frozen Strawberry Flavored & Nerds beverage. This limited-time drink features a strawberry or blue raspberry slush base topped with crunchy Nerds candy. The combination of the smooth, cold slush and the tart, crunchy candy provides a playful and nostalgic experience. Some fans have compared it to similar drinks at Sonic, but many are excited about this new offering. To celebrate National Strawberry Month, Burger King is offering a free classic Frozen Strawberry Flavored beverage (without Nerds) with any $1+ purchase through the BK app or website on Saturdays in May.
Burger King has been making changes to its menu, including the addition of a Frozen Fanta Strawberry, available in small, medium, and large sizes. This complements their existing Frozen Fanta Blue Raspberry and Frozen Coke.
Other fast-food chains are also expanding their drink options. Wendy’s, Taco Bell, and Chick-fil-A have been developing new and fruity flavors to attract customers. Taco Bell’s Live Mas Café in California features over 30 drink options, including caffeinated refrescas and Churro Chillers, contributing to double-digit growth in transactions and sales. Wendy’s has also seen success with its premium craft lemonades, such as blueberry pomegranate and pineapple mango.
