Whataburger has announced the return of its fan-favorite Pico de Gallo Burger, marking another major comeback from the chain’s WhataVault. After nearly four years of customer requests and social media pleas, the burger is once again available, starting June 3—for a limited time only.
The Pico de Gallo Burger, originally launched in 2020, quickly gained a loyal following. Its return is part of Whataburger’s 75th anniversary celebrations, which include reintroducing several popular menu items throughout the year.
Served on a five-inch toasted bun, the burger features a 100% fresh, never-frozen beef patty, topped with melted pepper jack cheese, house-made pico de gallo, and a cilantro-lime sauce. Customers can also opt for a crispy Whatachick’n patty for a different take on the same bold flavor combination.
“The Pico de Gallo Burger brings together bold flavors that reflect the vibrant heritage of Texas, while still delivering that unmistakable Whataburger experience,” said Debbie Stroud, Whataburger President and CEO. “This isn’t just about a fan-favorite burger—it’s about celebrating the delicious food and community spirit that have shaped us over the last 75 years.”
To add a bit of flair to the launch, Whataburger has also introduced “La Gran Whatalucha,” a four-part social media series featuring real-life luchadores competing in dramatic wrestling matches. The campaign highlights the energy and excitement surrounding the burger’s return, complete with a custom Whatalucha championship belt.
As part of its anniversary celebration, Whataburger continues to emphasize quality and tradition, serving fresh food made to order—“hot, and just how you like it,” as the brand promises.
The Pico de Gallo Burger is available now at participating locations, but only for a limited time.
